This post has been pointed out to me by a friend and I am most hurt and surprised to see this from you Gill, although I understand now that you keep writing reviews under different names to get them published.
You will remember that although I had been retired for over 10 years and I not involved within the company anymore, your husband came to my home and asked me to come and see you at your home “as you were in a state over your hair”, my wife & I did so that very day.
Having carefully read this review and others you have seen fit to publish on other so called ‘review’ sites, I am afraid that the descriptions and most actions described by you are actually impossible to achieve
i.e. it is not possible to ‘layer at the roots’ and the very description defies logic, in another review you claim that your hair was 24inches long (that is 2 feet long) and I know it never has been and in another review that the *mobile hairdresser cut just half a millimetre off of it (that extremely small amount is so very clever, I have to ask - HOW?)
Anyway, back to my visit to your home; - Yes, you were very distressed, you showed me your hair and actually told me *that a mobile hairdresser had cut your hair since your salon visit - I said that as another hairdresser had been cutting your hair I could not comment on the haircut but on examination of your hair, I told you it was very dry and brittle and easy to snap. In fact it was obvious to me that the hair at centre back was in a very poor state of condition (which I told your husband but I did not say that to you as you were so stressed already) You showed me your hairbrush which by your own admission was ‘full of hair’, and you said every time you brushed it, “it came out” It was obvious that you were suffering from extreme dryness leading to the hair being brittle and breaking off when brushed – known as Fragilitis.
After questioning you about your health, your husband confirmed that you had been under a great deal of stress for a long time and still were, due to the decline and loss of 2 very close family members to the dreaded cancer. I said at the time and continue to believe that this was the cause of your hair problems, as stress and shock play havoc on the body and can be the main cause of hair loss and indeed many other health problems.
You will remember that I said I did not see any evidence of hairdressing malpractice at all and then personally gave you a great deal of hair care advice to help move matters forward; including how to use a very wide toothed brush - how to correctly brush your hair, starting gently from the ends and working gently up towards the scalp to try to avoid any more breakage.
I also recommended shampooing using the palms of the hands instead of fingers to avoid undue tangling, recommended products for hair strengthening and to avoid using heated appliances such as irons/hot brush etc, as these would make the hair even drier.
When my wife & I left your home, I can confirm categorically that I had seen no evidence of any problem that you think you received via the salon, in fact we thought we had managed to allay your fears and help you move forward. To our mind this was confirmed when most surprisingly to us, a day or two later we received a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine as thanks from you and your husband.
So imagine my surprise when, all this time later, you are publically seeking attention for something, that by your latest description appears that you have not heeded any of my advice, for after this amount of time (three years!) with correct treatment and handling, your hair should now be in very good condition but it rather sounds as if your hair has not improved & is now in desperate need of cutting and strengthening.
Finally it is completely untrue that any Goldsworthy’s team member, Director or Staff member has ever had any office or otherwise taken from them as you state on several sites, in fact they continue to judge, compete, teach & represent major manufacturers throughout the United Kingdom and abroad and are very highly regarded by their peers.
I will be adding the above statement of fact to any other misleading reviews that are brought to my attention so that readers of reviews have an opportunity to read a professional opinion as well as that of a lay person’s.

This whole episode reminds me of a comment made to me when I was a very young hairdresser. ”the problem hairdressers have is not what is on the some folks head but rather what is in it!”

On May, 21st, 2014, it will be the 3rd Anniversary of the shredding of my whole head of hair. This "Hairdresser" knew exactly what he was doing and how long it would take for my hair to repair and grow, he had been the only one to style it for the last 15yrs. After 3 long years, still the representation from this salon are lying and denying. Steve Goldsworthy has been reported to The Swindon Police Force for his acts. The Next Course of action Is The Courts. The stress this "Man" has caused has been vast and is still ongoing since Saturday, May 21, 2011. A group of people were so rude when commenting on my posts about my experiences, all of them singing the praises of this "Hair God" and yet I would receive private messages from them apologising to me after being put straight on the facts.
This salon issued a post calling me a malicious customer, it was quickly removed. We have shown such temperance and grace to this family only to be met with underhandedness and a strong aversion to THE TRUTH. How can I be so confident in my claims of Gross Misconduct and Assault at the hands of this "Man", now, nearly 3 yrs on ? because what he did was so vicious and brutal, it still shows now. NB* The post left by the father of this "Hair God" on his sons salon review page has re-appeared after being taken down. Appalling Behaviour, Appalling Waste of God Given Energies. The Hair Gods wife sent a letter, stating lie after lie, how depressing having to deal with such characters, anyone would think that I had done something wrong. Do Not Trust This Salon.?

Steve Goldsworthy did the unthinkable. The most horrendous thing that any hairdresser could do to another persons hair. He actually shredded my whole head of hair, it has only just stopped breaking off now after nearly 3 years, so you can imagine how it is growing back. He texturised every single strand of my very fine hair, without my knowledge or permission. He hacked at my hair. It was 24" long. This man had been our family hairdresser for over 15yrs and known for over 30yrs. He was so brutal in his cutting that I still wear his work now. It will take years for my hair to grow back to the length and condition it was before 21.5.2011. He has spent the last 2 and a half years denying his own actions and encouraged a stylist within the salon who witnessed the brutalisation of my hair to do the same. Removed as Ambassador for The Hair Council, along with the loss of numerous lucrative positions that were held within the Hair Industry before May 2011, this man has foolishly risked his reputation and livelihood rather than simply telling the truth. In my opinion,It would, also, be foolish to take such a risk in using this salon.

This "Hairdresser" destroyed my once, 24" long hair. He has lied and denied his own actions. In my own experience, he is extremely untrustworthy. He has been removed as ambassador for the hairdressing council and hast lost other positions that he held within the hair industry. Information and proof of his GROSS MISCONDUCT are about to be handed to The Swindon Police Force. Once that is satisfied then he will be pursued through the legal system. An absolute disgrace to the hairdressing profession.

My families hair has not been touched by this "Hairdresser" for nearly 3 years and all of our hair has never looked better.
The Swindon Shredder will never get his mean little fingers on our hair again and we will never again pay for the shocking and brutal work that he produces.
What's the price on TRUST, PROFESSIONALISM AND INTEGRITY ?
Well that's simple . . . . It's PRICELESS.

Jen you have not seen my hair, so truly, your opinions are baseless. My hair has not fallen out. . . Fact. Photos prove that my hair was long and un-shredded before the 21/05/2011. Here's some insight . . . We would build an extension on our house, guess who decided to do the same? We bought a soft top car, again, guess who decided to buy the same? Impromptu visits would be made to our home by this “Hairdresser” & the wife, why? To measure the fridge that we had just bought, guess why? The most vial incident was after another un announced visit at our home, our children actually caught this “Hairdresser” taking pictures of our newly installed kitchen behind my husbands back ! ! ! I hope you start to get the picture now. I have forgiven this “Hairdresser”, it's the only way forward for all and it helps that I understand his character but while I still can, I will make sure that this “Hairdresser” will be accountable for every single scissor stroke he made. I am doing nothing wrong by doing this. Truly, there is no redress for the kind of acts he has practised, right from the beginning, with denial of Telephone & Text's conversations had. The friendship was with a number of the family, not just him, because of that, he was given an 8 month grace to become accountable for his own actions, e-mails & visits made to ensure he knew of the possibility of legal action & the possible negative knock on effect to reputations & businesses only to be met with a “Wall Of Complete Denial”. Regarding the stopping of this “Hairdresser” mid way through, well speak to his senior stylist about that, I confirmed just the “usual” please . . . . but it seems that “Once He Popped, He Just Couldn't Stop ! ! !” NB* Please Ask yourself this Q. . . . If any of my words are lies, then why would I be taking such a risk making these “Allegations” public? Why have I not been pursued regarding “Liable”? A. The Truth Is Not Liable, also, would a client have this “Hairdressers” private Mobile No or be able to describe their house after attending dinner parties there, most probably not but a friend of over 30 yrs could 'eh? I still wear the proof today, showing exactly what has been done to my hair from the roots up. Word of advise, take it or not . . . Always and I mean Always, make sure you have seen proof or heard proof from both sides before voicing such an informed opinion. My family can confirm, that in the early days after this "Hairdressers" work, I would wake up screaming. Not one of my words have been lies, so it is obvious that someone is lying . . . .

WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE . . . . .
Let's just say that either, The Wife or your daughter were unfortunate enough to suffer what I have been through !
Someone they trusted had done what you had done.
Imagine it ! Starting from the crown and not stopping until there was nothing left to cut !
All the times I had to listen to The Wife, explaining why she didn't like diamonds, or 4x4 cars, the funniest being when she just had to explain why she didn't have a coffee machine like ours !
Jealousy is a deadly sin and look now where it has got the two of you.
You couldn't even face your own work, in the end, your parents had to deal with it ! Some Son 'eh !
The wife's letter, went on and on about turning up at your door, The wife laid in her bed while we confronted you for your actions.
So confirm for us now . . . .
Did you and The Wife turn up at our house unannounced ?
Did you make a visit to our house, when our children caught you taking pictures of our newly installed kitchen behind Michaels back ?
Did you turn up unannounced, trying to encourage Michael to invest in a Pyramid Scheme, that eventually failed, leaving one of your employees £4000.00 out of pocket ?
Did you show us a plastic bag full of money ?
A few more details that you can lie about, why break a habit 'eh !
Believe me, a refurbishment of your salon is not going to eradicate the sorrow that you have brought, just not to our family but to your own as well !
So, Ratsworthy was it worth it ?
My hair is growing, how's your reputation ? Going in the same direction ?
And please, tell The Wife, no more lies ! ! !

*HOW TO RUIN YOUR PARENTS REPUTATION IN ONE MALICIOUS CUT*
This salon has recently celebrated 50 years of trading.
It had a most respectable reputation after years of hard work.
The current creative director demolished that hard earned reputation in one malicious cut.
For the past 15 years, this "Hairdresser" was asked only to trim my once, 24" long hair.
On Saturday, 21 May 2011, the creative director took umbrage at something I said, so he showed me ! ! !
To say what he did to my hair was brutal, would be the understatement of the year !
Instead of manning up and taking full responsibility for his own actions, he chose to lie and has also encouraged numerous employees within the salon to do the same.
The wife has now sent a letter, again, full of lies, which will now be picked apart in a court of law !
What a mess ! Similar to how my hair was left !
Ever wished you had done the right and decent thing?
Yes, your business would have suffered but no where near as much damage would have been done if you had just told the TRUTH.
A lesson to all Hairdressers . . . . . DON'T DO A GOLDSWORTHY ! . . . . .
You will spend a lifetime regretting it !

" THE SWINDON SHREDDER "
This "Hairdresser" had been given numerous opportunities to do the right thing.
He wants it all ! To be able to annihilate my whole head of hair and then be able to accept absolutely no responsibility whatsoever.
He has ruined his reputation and credibility, brought shame to his family and still, he is lying and denying, while I still wear his brutal work nearly 3 years later.
DO NOT USE THIS SALON. IT'S JUST NOT WORTH THE RISK.

NB* This Lady DOES KNOW what she is talking about as she is still sporting the damage done.
"they are not that stupid as to cut at the roots every person knows not to do that"
Believe me, they are STUPID enough to do that.
How about cutting the hair away at the temples?
Or scalping the whole head of hair into a plat? The list goes on.
Once this serpent started, do you really believe he would just stop at the minimal damage stage ?
No ! He went for it and then some !!!
So much so that, Marie, a salon employee who witnessed the cut, exclaimed to the Serpent With The Scissors "What did you do that for? He replied, "Because there's nothing left to cut " ! ! !
Carry on using this serpent's Services but Please, do not insult me or my intelligence, as it has been an absolute nightmare for my family & me for the last 3 years.
In the early days I would wake up screaming !!!
This "Hairdresser" has been reported to The Swindon Police Force and once that has been satisfied, the next course of action is the courts.
He was so brutal with his cutting, nearly 3 years later, I still wear his work.
His parents visited our home to view his work and they both began to cry when they saw what he had done to me.

Just Not Worth The Risk.
Disgraceful Behaviour By A Partner Of This Salon ! Used this salon & the same hairdresser for 15 years. Hairdresser took umbrage at something I said while in his chair so he promptly cut, layered & shredded my once, one length long hair, without either, my knowledge or permission. The Hairdressing Industry is, currently, unregulated, so at the moment, these "Hairdressers" are a law unto themselves. My concern is this, I have spent the last two years trying and trying to highlight this "Hairdressers" antics to his peers and the regulatory bodies that govern this profession. To say that they have "Closed Ranks" is an understatement, as I do not get an acknowledgment to my complaint and as you may imagine, absolutely no reply either. These governing bodies are currently lobbying parliament to introduce new laws regarding the hair industry. They have not even replied to correspondence sent regarding a former President of their associations, a former Ambassador of the Hair Council, instead, websites for these bodies have been changed to restrict the access to the public. Do not use this salon ! It's Just Not Worth The Risk and do you really want this current network in charge of Do's & Don'ts of hairdressing? In my own experience, they are there to protect their own, the hairdresser, not the consumer, the very people who keep their industry turning.
