The Masters Hair Stockport Reviews

A true master of his craft, Carlo demostrates hair cutting as a fine art and is able to creative distinctive new looks with minimal fuss and effort. The setting is also excellent with good parking outside the shop located off a busy road. Carlo is probably the longest established barber in Poynton and very much a fixture of the community.

For all the moaning I've seen on here I totally disagree with you, I went for a shave and haircut and whilst I had "trainees" do me they did a great job under the guidance of the owner, they weren't rushed and they did everything I asked for, I'm due back in tomorrow for the same again, the Groupon offer is tremendous please don't be put off by the negativity on here!!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID. PLEASE DONT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY IN HERE!!! It's run by unqualified kids. No one has certificates to prove they can even hold sissors!!! I had a young lad cut my hair and he was shaking. Half way through an hour into trimming bits (oh and walking off to get advice from the boss on what to do) I decided enough was enough, got up and went to exit. I'd bought vouchers or wowchers and he told me it was a restyle and I would have to pay more on top of the vouchers!!! I said no as I would have to return to my home town and pay to get it corrected. Carlos wouldn't give my jacket back unless I handed over more cash. I got out my phone and started to call 999 when he threw my jacket at me and he ran off (not joking). DONT EVER GO TO THIS SALON BARBERS WHATEVER IT IS.

Teeth whitening joke. I should have known better than to do do teeth whitening at a hair dressers. Dan who is clearly not that bright, which did not fill me with confidence, sat me in a chair, with only some shanty screen for privacy (everyone in the hairdressers could see me), he didn't explain what he was using, what the process as going to be or anything really, just told me to brush my teeth in the toilet. The toilet was something our of a horror film, grubby wasn't the word, filthy and even then I thought this must get better. Carlo the manager was busy frying pan full of sausages just outside the toilet in some kitchenette thing, is was comedic! Dan applied some substance and then the light, then left me for 15 minutes. In fairness he did check on me, but I felt exposed, unsure and the substance was stinging. The laser machine had seen much better days, it was held together with some tape! I decided to walk after 15 minutes and save my teeth. It was quite clear to me that this is an add on to make some cash which they desperately need. Carlo the manger has zero customer service skills and is quite miserable generally - every time I have met him actually. Pay double and go somewhere else, they should not be offering this service.

How I wish I'd read these reviews 1st! I went there today with a KGB deal. £10 for shampoo, condition, and restyle. he offered me an additional colour for £25 but I said I'd not got my handbag. He said stop by and drop it in, so foolishly i agreed. He and another young guy put the colours on together but I could tell the young guy didn't really know what he was doing! After a few mins my scalp began to itch unbearably. I was told it was normal! I scratched so much he said I was making my neck red and bleed in one area and it WAS STILL ME who insisted on him taking it off after 10 mins [it should have been 1/2hr! He asked me to look at some pictures and I told him I really just wanted a trim of styal I had and not much off really. I was surprised that it was the younger guy who was left to cut my hair!! Must be better at cutting than putting on colours I foolishly thought! WRONG! I realised too late that he was just hacking at my hair and clearly hadn't a clue! i told him one side was much longer than other and it just felt like a nightmare! I wouldn't let him finish blowing it [he was useless at that too] and i was by this time raising my voice and saying I didn't think either of them were hairdressers! I too left in tears. I left my glasses and scarf behind i was so upset! Could NOT have gone back in when I realised. I made an apt immediately with top stylist in Trafford Centre. They were all shocked! I DO have photos! It then cost me £70 and still not right . It is a work in progress she said! I do plan to try to take it further because clearly they should not be practising! IT NEEDS SHUTTING WEEKS AGO!!

Went there because I was given a voucher for my birthday!! I genuinely thought I was on a wind up programme!! When I went in he picked up a magazine and insisted I have a fringe like the girl in the picture!! I said no I didn't want a fringe but he kept saying it would suit me. I had to be quite firm. He sat me down and just starting cutting without any consultation on length. He took loads off!! Luckily I wanted quite a bit off. I would have burst into tears if not. Then when he'd finished... Rather quickly... He mixed a colour. Again no consultation just started slapping it on my head. Then when that was done he told me to go and make my own brew whilst he used the excess dye to colour his own grey sideburns!!! I sat down in a different chair with a timer for 30 mins. Felt like 3 hours!! In that time he had 3 clients, all ageing men , and he also suggested that I could wash his hair for him!!!! I declined the offer. When my 30 mins was up my hair was washed, with my head leaning forward instead of back which is what you'd expect in a nice salon. All water and colour ran into my face. Then when that was done, he sat me down by the hairdryer and proceeded to tell me to dry my own hair as another ageing man came in asking for a defuzz!!! I couldn't get out quick enough when it was done, I actually thought there were hidden cameras!! He gave me a loyalty card.. Probably won't be taking advantage. The irony of it is, my hair is actually quite nice but that is down to pure luck and a good pair of straighteners when I got home!! As if he had any!!! Sounds like a good deal on the net, but not worth the trauma. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

I got a voucher at The Masters for a cut, blow dry and highlights for £21. Not only did carlo NOT wash my hair he also did a lame job blow drying it too. He chose not to wash my hair and just gave it a boring dry cut. The only good thing was that he cut my hair nice. But I am extremely annoyed because he ripped me off £11. He refused to give me highlights even though they were part of the offer. We didn't bother explaining it to him because he would just get confused, even though it's really simple. I asked for highlights but he just didn't give me them. EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE PART OF THE OFFER! It's not fair why should have I had to pay £21? He could have refunded me back £11 but he just didn't. I really want to complain to him and get my money back if he won't give me what I paid for why should he keep my money?

My mum and I had our hair cut there today and I left the place in floods of tears and had to pay another salon to put my hair right this afternoon. I only wanted a little trim and he cut inches off my hair which I had been growing for my sisters wedding. I'm devastated! When he started cutting my hair a man walked in and he handed the scissors to him and showed him how to use them. Apparently this new man was someone who had paid for a course in hairdressing and had never held a pair of scissors in his life. I had to stop him and tell Carlos that I was not not very comfortable or happy with that. Also his combs and brushes were very dirty and the whole place with the staff in it needs knocking down! PLEASE PLEASE NEVER GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE!!!!!!!!

DO NOT USE TIS SALON, my girlfriend worked here for just under 4 weeks and she had nothing but sexual harassment from both her boss and the co workers. This salon should be reported and shut down, they aren't even qualified to do their job. The apparent barber cuts off all your hair even when you only ask for a trim... DEFINATELY DO NOT USE THIS SALON.....

DO NOT go to this salon! I worked here for 4 weeks It is a total waste of time, money and effort. First of all Carlo is a fake he's apparently Italian but yet he has a mancunian accent when his Italian friends come in to the salon he's started speaking Italian with them, how rude is that! He uses pound land colours and charges clients extra money when they get to an appointment they get charged an extra £10 for their hair being too long when he's using a £1 hair colour! He made me who is still training not even qualified to cut, cut all the clients hair who we're coming in, he dosent even know how to mix a colour he hasn't got the slightest clue what so ever what he is doing, he sent a lady's hair ginger by adding all different sorts of colours to the mixing bowl! All they do is sit their eating feet up while treating their workers like slaves watching them do everything. I went to do woman's hair and he had me doing men's! He's a FAKE he sells fake watches, perfumes and also sells drugs in the watch cases. He's robbed half of my products, brushes and combs, if you were to go there if watch your bag if I were you I mean if he can rob brushes and combs which don't even cost that much what would he take out of our bag he's sooo low robbing things! Also I'm quite sure the police would like to know what've has been saying to me about I'm pretty and fit he is old enough to be my grandad I am under the Ve of 18 years old so I'm very sure they would like to know what he's been saying. He tells all the customers biggish himself up that he was a £75,000 car when all he has is an 02 plate car which is 11 years old! He's nothing but a liar con man fake! Avoid going there because you will definitely come out with hair that you didn't want/ like. He dosent even wash the cups properly for clients to drink out of he spent care about the clients all he wants is their money, he charges people £650 for a 5day barbering course by the end they don't even know how to cut and he has his other worked training them when he's been paid to do it! The 'salon' is soo unprofessional and un modern it's intrue never been or seen anywhere like it. DO NOT buy the voucher because he will charge you more when you arrive, do not do a training course it will be a waste of money don't do anything avoid the scruffy fake unprofessional 'salon' it a a disappointment I'm ashamed to say I lowered my standards to even worked there and let him taking the actual mick!

I worked here for a couple of weeks and carlos doesn't know what hes doing. I have qualified at level 3 at college (just doing womans hair) and he made me cut mens and womans hair straight away. He also gets his colours from a poundshop!! And lets juniors cut and colour hair. I'm sure people are interested in the FAKE rolexes and breitling watches that he sold in his display cabinet in the shop. Not forgetting he never paid me. Total waste of space going to that shop. It needs to be shut down!!!

AVOID, scruffy barber shop not a hairdressers as described on voucher sites. Got a shockingly bad haircut and they ran out of hair dye even though I had booked and prepaid via a voucher site. The shop itself hasn't been touched since 1980, I asked for a trim and had half my hair hacked off, it's uneven with no style so have had to book into another salon to get it put right. Avoid this place at all costs, total disaster, I actually cried when I came out and saw the extent of what he had done to my hair.

The older guy who I assume owns the place was cutting my hair, I asked him to take half the length off & even pointed to a picture on the wall as an example of how I would like my hair, he cut far more than half off (nearly all of it) & it looked nothing like the picture.

He was talking to me while cutting as hairdressers do but would rudely walk off while I was talking back & so came across as very insincere.

Over charged me as well as he said it was a restyle but had he only taken half the length off as I'd requested it would have been just a trim besides it only took about 10 minutes.

Would definitely not recommend & would never return
