I wish I could give this salon 0 stars.
I have had many beauty/spa treatments over the years but never have I had an experience this bad.
I phoned the salon to book a facial and massage for myself and my friend. The receptionist confirmed the appointments but I said I would email her the specific facial and massage we wanted. I was not told that the email wasn't working at this point, no confirmation was recieved they'd recieved it. We turned up for our treatments and were kept waiting. I was half an hour late going in for my treatments. We were both due for an aromatherapy facial and hot stone massage, with my friend also having a brow wax and tint.
My facial was awful. Products blobbed or slapped on my face and roughly rubbed in. The steamer was turned on and spat boiling water over my arm (painful and not relaxing!), then the woman went to swap the steamer so I was pushed, on the bed, out of the way and pushed back once it was swapped. At one point another person came in and out of the room several times, I couldn't see what was going on because my eyes were covered, but it made me feel very uncomfortable. When scraping my t-zone she just wiped the implement on the pillow next to me. My friend had her eyebrows tinted but not waxed as requested. Who has a tint without a wax?!
The masage was not good. I won't describe the specific reason why I felt so uncomfortable, but it was so upsetting i was almost in tears. On top of this she just quirted oil over me, no warming it up first and just left the bottle on the bed resting on my leg, which was cold and unpleasant. I could go on, but that gives the idea.
Immediately after my treatment (only about 1hr 25 not 1hr 45) I complained, in private, to the manager. I said I wasn't prepared to pay for the treatments. She offered me a 50% discount and 2 free treatments that she would do herself. I agreed reluctantly to this. 2 days later I was called to say I could only have one treatment for free. I then said I wanted a refund, having not wanted to pay at all to start with. I was told she would check with the owner and contact me within 24 hours. This didn't happen. I called again, spoke to someone else, who was very angry and just gave a long list of excuses, none of which were relevant. She said it would be another 2 days before she could agree to a refund but she would need my card. As i live round the corner and was home from work early I thought I'd go in and ask for it a short while later. What then happened was I tried to get my refund and was verbally abused, shouted at, told I was in the wrong and and told that she couldn't process my refund. I was also told they had never had any other complaints.
Also, prices were higher than advertised on the website but we weren't told abuot until we arrive and no 20% first time discount as advertised.
The whole experience has been an utter disgrace, I've never experienced anything like it. Do not go to this place.
