Hair Care – Overall Hair Care Tips
By Diane L Dilov-Schultheis

Have you ever had a bad hair day and didn’t know what to do? There could be numerous causes for this to be the case, but don’t worry; there are quick solutions to fix most of them. The following are several tips to assist you on your bad hair day and they can be done easily. Soon your hair will be beautiful again!

• Dull hair – this is usually caused from too much conditioner. To get more shine in your hair, change the amount of conditioner used, and the length of time it is left on your hair.

• Limp straight hair - use volumizing spray and roll with big rollers. Divide your hair into 3 or 4 areas, place rollers, blow dry hair, cool dry hair, and then remove rollers.

• Limp curly hair –You can use a curling iron to bring life back. Divide hair in 4 or more areas first, curl with iron, and then let curls hang loosely.

• Stop frizz in curls - mist hair with conditioner or water, then scrunch hair.

• Stop frizz in other hair types – frizzing could be caused by humidity or over processing your hair. Treat your hair with products created for frizzy hair and condition hair regularly.

• Dandruff – use special dandruff shampoo as directed.

• Dry or brittle hair - several things could cause this including sun, over processing, or chemicals. Use special created products for dry hair. Condition often.

• Hair loss – this could be caused from diet, stress, genetics, or other factors. Consult a doctor for recommendations.

• Split ends – hair that is brushed when it is wet could cause this or chemicals put on hair. Have your haircut often and use specially made products.

• Static in hair – this could be from not using a conditioner or static in the surroundings. Do not brush your hair often and use products made to control static in hair.

• Flat hair – a bad haircut or too much of certain products could cause this. Change conditioners or the amount of time it is left on your hair. Have your hair cut and ask hairdresser for advice on problem.

• Smelly hair – this could be from odors in the air. Spray hair with water that has a few drops of perfume in it; or use small amount of powder, then brush hair.

• Out of control bangs – use a styling product on your bangs, your fingers instead of a brush or comb; then blow-dry them to desired style.

• Tangled hair – use a spray on conditioner, a wide toothed comb, and gently and slowly, work from the end of the hair up to the root.

Washing and Drying Tips: • Do not over-wash. Every other day is sufficient.
• Do spread products evenly throughout hair.
• Do not use towel to wrap or rub hair; only blot hair, gently.
• Do not use blow dryers daily, or not at all.

Keep this list somewhere nearby and refer to it on your next bad hair day. You will soon have lovely looking hair again!
